I'm in the process of reading this book. Anyone else read it? It won the Booker Prize in 2002, I think.

Iread it but wasn't too impressed. But thats because everyone raved on about the book and I expected more!
You seem to be reading most books that I have in my collection I'd recomend Catch 22 and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night time I think would be one you'd really live its about a fifteen-year-old boy with autism, who is into maths and pshyics. (It a really good book)
theres a couple more but not 100% sure what types you like but catch 22 and The curious Incident.... are funny but also serious.

I dunno, I think I'm on a 'modern classics' reading spree right now. After finishing Catcher in the Rye, I read Lord of the Flies, and then this book. I actually wanted to buy Catch-22, but it was a hardcover, and I didn't have enough dough.
I read Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time a loong time ago..... I think when it was first published. That book is a seriously good book. I didn't get it at first, but I got it on the second reading.
Anyways, on-topic, I enjoyed the book. I'm about three-quarters into the book, and I really enjoyed it so far. The best bit was when the three religious men (Christian, Muslim and Hindu) met Piscine at the same time. That was a riot. And I enjoyed the anecdotes about the zoo as well.
I read all sorts of books, as long as it's engaging. What are your recommendations?

The third book isn't out yet. I've read the first two books. I didn't really like it, though, because it resembles Star Wars way too much, and I could predict its greatest plot twist almost from the start of the book. That's saying something, as I'm normally rather clueless about this kind of thing.
I haven't read any Clive Cussler. He writes thrillers, right?

Yeah, his books are great. One of my favorites would have to be Trojan Odyssey.
Have you read any of the Lemony Snicket books. The way they are written is really good. As you can tell I enjoy reading alot. Gosh, I'm a friggin nerd.

Hey, I like reading too! I'm just more inclined towards SF, historical fiction, and classics.

I like those type of books too. My favorite classic would have to be...Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. My favorite SF would have to Enders Game. . My favorite historical fiction would have to be Inca Gold.
