I've got both, but I seriously dislike Facebook. There's a bunch of random junk you can download on Facebook, but I seriouly can't stand it. My page is like a million miles long, and I've simply gotten tired of dealing with all the garbage I get from everyone. Myspace is nice, it's sharp, and I don't have to deal with the long loads for my particular Facebook and trying to delete junk.

I'd say "There's no real difference," but there is. You need to try both to have a good opinion between them.

There's also another, similar site, I think it's Canadian-based, called Neoxia or the such. I read about it a couple months ago... Don't know anything about it, though.

It all depends on where you live. Canadians prefer facebook, Brits prefer Bebo and Americans like Myspace. Eska, I'm not sure what's wrong with her.
Facebook is relatively safer, with more options and a cleaner (harmful cookie-free) interface. It has more functions and hardly ever lags (unlike myspace). And already, facebook's growth is killing all contestants.

Facebook: The bare minimum when it comes to customization, but you can get tons of applications for it.
MySpace: Far more customization options (when was the last time you saw a customized cursor on Facebook?). Much more focused on connectivity then Facebook.

I personally prefer MySpace, because I find most of the applications for Facebook lame, and I use those websites to connect with people.

Yeah! That's exactly it, II! Seriously. There's a lack of uniqueness to your page when it comes to facebook. But when you're on Myspace, there's tons of stuff you can do with it. Plus there's a bunch of profile editors you can use to make it easy if need be. X3

And if you hate getting a bunch of pointless stuff, there's no worries, because every single person isn't going to superpoke you fifty times. Which drives me absolutely mad, because even though I only have a handful (as in, really, a handful) of people who I've got on facebook, but my page is freaking long. My facebook takes a LOT longer to load than any myspace I've ever seen. Reason being that there's just TOO MUCH stuff. >_<

When was the last time you needed one? As I've said before, Facebook is alot more professional.
Customizing your page is more for commercial than social purposes. As far as pure interaction is concerned, facebook has a more convenient and appropriate interface. I don't see how an java applet with my favourite movies quizzes and games reflects my individuality. I must be really stupid if it did.

Your pointing out that nobody needs a customized cursor is, quite frankly, a damn lame arguement. Nobody needs MySpace or Facebook at all, they have them because they want them. The same way that a person might want a customized cursor perhaps. And the only reason that MySpace doesn't look professional is because some people effects-whore their pages. If Facebook allowed this level of customization, it would be the exact same.

PS: Java applet with favorite movies = Facebook application with favorite movies
